Azusa Missions came out of the Azusa Report project. It is to train people how to proclaim the gospel with the power of the Holy Spirit and walk in the anointing to heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead.
A major concern has came forth that the Pentecostal movement has left the field of the harvest and replaced it with prayer meetings and worship gatherings. We must never forget the harvest is before us. The importance of the prayer meeting and worship gatherings can never be over emphasized but not at the expense of the evangelism in the power of the Holy Spirit. World evangelization is the one thing we can not do on the other side of eternity.
Azusa Report and its network of ministry believes that there is three critical things that we must have in our ministries if we are going to see the great end time harvest and revival at the end of the “church age.”
- In-depth understanding of Books of Acts
- Personal encounter with the Holy Spirit
- Academic knowledge of historic revival
One of the great concerns that some are see is that evangelists are going out with bad theology and a lack of understanding of historical faith. The Pentecostal movement has a theological crisis on our hands. We are one of many voices that is calling for evangelist full of the Holy Spirit but also full of sound doctrine to walk in the anointing.
Azusa Report and Azusa Missions has made it a mission to follow the Book of Acts as the blueprint for harvest. This is not just a statement we make, it is something that governs everything that is done. The question is often, ” Is this in the Book of Acts?” For over 20 years, the book of Acts has been a personal passionate of Peter Vandever to understand the vision, the theology, the geography, and the leadership of it.
The core message that we carry to the world is the Holy Spirit is for real and you can encounter the Holy Spirit. In Acts 19, they had heard of the baptism of John, the message of repentance but not of the Holy Spirit. They received the Holy Spirit and all of Asia Minor was touched in the matter of two years.
Evangelism in the power of the Holy Spirit and revival is many times confused. As such, we would like to help people understand the difference but giving people a sound grasp of historical revival. What many think revival is, it is not. What many think revival will look like, it will not. It is important to study the history of revival to know this.
Between Porch and Altar
Azusa Missions not only believes in solemn assemblies because they are biblical but also because they work. Our founder was part of the The Call movement and traveled all over America proclaiming the Nazirine call. The state of the nation is determined by the actions of the intercessors and the evangelists. We set the tone for the soul of the country.
Blow the trumpet in Zion, declare a holy fast, call a sacred assembly. Gather the people, consecrate the assembly…. Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. (Joel 2:15-17)
Having had the honor to bring the message of the Holy Spirit to many nations and releasing revival to cities; international missions is something that is at the heart of Azusa Report. Peter Vandever was the first person to preach about the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in Teraina, Kiribati and West Papua. With that said, the mission has turned to the homeland. The call is to bring revival to America. Our mission field is before us when we walk out our door.
This is the hour of revival for America and Azusa Missions is ready to be at the forefront of it.
Heaven is Real!
I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:3-4)
There is much confusion right now in the Pentecostal movement about Heaven. Some people are so worried about “bringing heaven to earth” than they forgot that Heaven is a real place that we will spend eternity. In the quest of “Kingdom Now,” we have the awe of Heaven and the reality of an eternity with Jesus. Revelation 21 tells us we will not need a tabernacle because He will dwell with us and we will be His people.
The message of the gospel at its’ core is that we can go to Heaven where everything is everything is made new. It is not some form of the American Dream known as “prosperity.” It is the reality that after the suffering we will experience on earth, we will go to spend eternity in the presence of Jesus. Revelation 21 is our destiny.
The tents are coming back!
In the wake of the Latter Rain revival, there was tent revivals all over America. They were led by names like Oral Roberts, Jack Coe, A.A. Allen, Paul Cain, T.L. Osborn to name a few. It was an amazing time to be alive. It became known as the Voice of Healing revival. Out of it came both Christ for the Nations and Oral Roberts University.
In recent years, God has been calling the evangelists back to the tents and to have camp meetings for weeks outside the church structure. It is the conviction of Azusa Missions that the 1,000 seat tents are coming back in the coming years. It is about the harvest this time.
